At a young man I was better than most at football however it did not come easy for me. I had to work hard at it. I believe for those that sports came easy at a young age struggle with adaptability as they get older.

At age fifty I had a rebirth as my wife and I separated. Instead of turning to alcohol or drugs I turned to running, cycling and the gym. I met new people, often younger people and that included younger women that found me attractive.
I ran 10k’s and marathon, did century rides, and was in the gym 5 days a week.

I did not notice my metabolism slow down till I hit sixty. I still run, but not as fast. I still ride, but not as far, I still lift, but
not as much, although more than many in their thirties.

I am here to say to anyone thinking of quitting because you are getting older, don’t quit. You are still stronger that many in your age group. More importantly you are healthier.
