How far out did I make my long term plan?

Well I made a basic plan in 2012 after going through divorce with my first wife.
There were basic elements and goals that never changed.

Before I married my 2nd wife; I stated that I wanted to retire at 59.5 years old.

We worked forward that goal. There were mountains we had to climb, for example I worked 200-400 miles away for over five years right after we got married.

I maxed out my 401k while my wife worked on her teacher certification.

I did retire at 59.5 however the CEO had a spasm when I told him I was retiring. I did lot of large project management. So we worked out a contract where I would work 40 hours a month for a year. This has worked great for me.

Last year I offered to fund the building of a home for my in-laws who live in Poland. Even though the economy got socked, I made a commitment and sticking to it.

In September based on demand of my services I started a consulting firm.

So the plan is still alive and working. It’s just modified to create more success for both me and my wife, which in turns benefits others in our family.
