I am been in similar interviews; one was a supervisor from another department who was interviewing in my department for a Safety Manager position.

It went like this; Me, I see you do not have any prior experience as a safety manager , why do you want to work in this position?

Supervisor; “Well it’s certainly has to be easier than the position I have now.”

At that stage I was laughing on the inside thinking he has no clue and how out of touch this person is.

The HR Manager continued with questions.

A few years later I left the company after being there for 20 years.

I heard they gave the position for that site to the supervisor in the interview.

That followed with several serious incidents. A person seriously burned and one with an amputation.

The Supervisor went out on workers comp due to work stress. He never returned.
