I fall outside the bell curve. I have been into health and fitness most of my life. I went on a keto diet in 2017 to wake up my metabolism.

I was working out 5-6 days a week. Which consisted of weights, running, and long walks.

Over thirty days a was averaging a 3-5 pound weight loss per week. At the same time, I threw in intermittent fasting for two days a week.

What makes this diet work is the elimination of sugar. I am admittedly a sugar addict. This can be a goal to stop the large weekly intake of sugar and let's face it, most people don't realize how much sugar is in foods.

For most, as you point out the KETO diet is not right for the majority of people. I am on a more balanced diet right now and close to a healthy weight which is actually between 200-205 pounds.

For the average person, the decrease of carbs from their diet and the reduction of sugar is a good thing but it's got to be a life change.

America as a society is obese. The portions we eat are way too big and the about of sugar we take in on a daily average is excessive.

For the health of children, we need to make eating properly a value that every American understands.
