I have lived in CA since 1996. I came from NY and the reason for the move was I was recruited to work in the wine industry as an Environmental and Safety Professional.
CA is in many ways a beautiful State and is slowly being destroyed by progressives.
Gavin Newsom by far is the worst Governor I have ever encountered in my 63 years.
Before you make the assumption, I am part of the right-wing MAGA. I will clarify that I did not vote for Trump. My Grandfather was a long-time Democratic Senator. I am a registered independent. CA with all its resources could be so much more. With the money wasted on the "train to nowhere" we could have invested in better roads and better schools. My wife who is a Special Education Teacher and also an immigrant who obtained her US citizenship in January 2024 has witnessed how millions are wasted in the CA school system on more administrators and fewer teachers, on pet projects instead of programs that will advance students' reading and mathematics.
We have some of the highest taxes in the Nation yet California ranks in the bottom half of the States according to US News and World Reports for Pre K-12 education. In 2024 California ranked 40th overall.
Environmental extremist has contributed to improper forest and water management. The last significant reservoir built in CA that exceeded one million acres-feet in capacity was New Melones Lake which was completed in the late 1980.
Since Newsom has been in office as Governor nearly 1 million citizens have fled to other States. That is data from 2022. High crime rates, poor quality of schools, high taxes and the extremely expensive housing cost. This is no problem for Mega Rich Newsom who recently bought a mansion in Marin County and sends his kids to private schools.
Newsom likes to brag that CA has the 5th largest economy, yet he has done everything possible to shut down businesses in CA. Since 2005 at least 237 businesses have left CA due to its ever expanding regulatory and tax climate. Since Newsom took office in 2019 companies have increasingly left CA with the majority moving to Texas.
Newsom has always been a self-centered fraud.
