I have worked for several mostly large companies including Amazon during my career. As you pointed out they are in general a complete waste of time and more often than not you will be sitting across the desk from a person that you more likely do not like.

At Amazon, I left because I honestly hated the job as a senior manager but most of all hated the arrogant little prick who was my boss.

The aforementioned prick went to so as to try to follow my Instagram account the day after I left.
