I interviewed for a job with a well-known Brewery (Beer Manufacturer) in California. I was as they say the only favorable candidate, and the person I would be taking over for was introducing me to his co-workers as his future replacement.
In the interview process, they asked me what programs I could add that would improve safety in the work environment. I recommended a drug and alcohol testing program which I had seen have a positive impact at other companies in my past.
Well unbeknown to me the founder was a major pot smoker, so much so that at one point local and state law enforcement agencies had the company under investigation for drug activity.
After that, I felt like the interview took a different path, and this was on the third in-person interview.
After 35 years of work experience with major corporations and many interviews behind me, my big recommendation is don't offer up too much information which I had a tendency to do during the interview process.
