I recently traveled to Italy with my wife. I was in true awe the history and the artwork.
We had a private tour of the Vatican with a tour guide who had a master in art History of the period between 1400-1700. It was amazing. I encourage anyone who has not been to add it to your bucket list. Even if you are not Catholic you can still appreciate the art in what is one of the largest museums in the world.
There is a great deal of lies about the Catholic Church and faith. If you do want to get closer to the truth you can find it at the Vatican and in Florence Italy.
The history is not always nice. Slaves constructed many or most of the church’s in Europe. There were wars and their were mistake made and good people persecuted like Galileo as an example. But to see art work that was preserved through the ages including the church structures is awe inspiring.
