I retired at 59, well sort of. I have worked for many major corporations and have traveled quite a bit for work which contributed to the demise of my first marriage. The last five years of my career I had an apartment in NV and a home in California and I would go back and forth weekly.

When I announced I was retiring, everyone asked why are you retiring so early? For me I had other goals, and passions I wanted venture into. I wanted to reconnect with family and friends.

I still work about 40 hours a month as a consultant for the aerospace company I was working for when I retired.

I have no regrets and I stay very busy. I exercise daily, I travel, I work around the house and spend more time restoring muscle cars which has been a long passion of mine.

I always tell people that if you are going to retire, have a short and long term plan.
