I will agree that a large majority of men who are 70 and older struggle with daily fitness. Might even move that age lower.

What it comes down to is that if a person has not adopted that life style early in life then that chances are that they will not take it up when they are older or retired.

I have even seen case studies where pro football players will retire from playing football and their fitness routine they had during their career goes away but their daily intake doesn't.

This leads to multiple problems with obesity and other health issues. These are people who were once the best at what they do and now struggle with fitness and weight gain.

I adopted a fitness lifestyle after my days of playing ball in school and knew I would struggle if I stopped. Now it's a daily routine of running 8-12 miles a week and working out in the gym 5-6 days a week.

In your case set small goals with your husband. Get him to chase you around the park instead of around the bed. Figure out what the carrot is that will motivate him.
